One of the benefits — some might say — of writing is the way that everything is material. Every emotion that slips in the door, for whatever reason, can be handed to a character to swallow and use. A hazard can be that it’s easy to become an observer of your own life, but we’re a reflective species anyway. Why not grasp at whatever comes along and add it to the mix.
